Voices of Singapore

Children's Choir

About The Choir

The Voices of Singapore Children's Choir was formed in 2019 by acclaimed Singaporean Conductor-Composer Darius Lim through a series of nationwide auditions. Today, the 180-strong children's choir boasts one of the most comprehensive music choral training programmes in the island.

Led by a team of some of the nation's most experienced and renowned children's choir pedagogues, the Voices of Singapore Children's Choir has built a progressive system of 6 different training and performing choirs that is focused on grooming some of the most talented young singers. The choir's comprehensive training programme includes international exchanges with world class children's choirs. The choir has also invited to sing for the 40th Anniversary of the Speak Mandarin Campaign, graced by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

Being part of a larger body of choirs in the Voices of Singapore Choral Society, the Children's Choir seeks to develop children from all walks of life as singers, individuals and performers, placing great focus on character building and Singaporean identity. The children's choir now conducts yearly auditions every Mid and End year to continue its mission of grooming young talents.

Due to the global COVID-19 Pandemic, Voices of Singapore will be holding auditions for the upcoming intake of the Voices of Singapore Children's Choir through virtual platforms. Please refer to this FAQ to address any questions you may have for the auditions. You may also contact us via email at contact@voicesofsingapore.com

Choral Scholars

The Choral Scholars Programme trains some of the country's most gifted singers. With a small number of vacancies offered each year, the 2019 pilot programme will be an extension of the Voices of Singapore Children's Choir (2019) and the Voices of Singapore Youth Choir (2020).

It provides an extensive music programme across multiple genres of music. Singers are expected to put up full recitals with combinations of solo and group performances: with individual attention spent to prepare singers for either advanced music certification courses of a career in music.

All singers in this programme are offered partial or full scholarships by the Voices of Singapore Choral Society.
