Joanna Tan

At the piano, Joanna lives in the space between breath and sound—where voices soar and stories find their shape. As a collaborative pianist with the VOS Starlight Singers and Starlight Music-Making Programme, and formerly with the VOS Children’s Choir, Joanna delights in being part of the collective sound that uplifts and supports the voices.

Joanna holds an LTCL Diploma in Piano Performance and enjoys a fruitful musical schedule serving in church as pianist, accompanying the choir and congregation, and occasionally stepping out from the keys to sing as a chorister herself. She also collaborates regularly with singers and musicians, always drawn to the shared energy of making music together. As a member of the VOS Ladies’ Choir, she spends her free time composing choral works, with a special love for sacred repertoire.

To Joanna, music is not just what she does—it’s how she lives. As the saying goes, “The piano is 88 keys, but an endless universe,” and she is grateful to explore it daily, one note, one voice, one moment at a time.
