Zachary Wong
Collaborative Pianist
VOS Men, VOS Starlight Voices and VOS Children’s Choir (SC, PGB)
Zachary is a rising Singapore-born music educator and collaborative pianist with a deep-rooted passion for music. He earned his ABRSM Grade 8 in Practical Piano at the age of 12, before furthering his musical prowess at the School of the Arts (SOTA). As a well-rounded musician, Zachary has performed in some of Singapore's most prestigious venues, including the Esplanade, Victoria Concert Hall, SOTA Concert Hall and Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music.
Although he eventually graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a degree in Chemical Engineering, his love for music never waned. He was exposed to choral music at NUS as a member of The NUSChoir. During his term as Bass Section Leader, he co-led the choir to win the prestigious “Choir of the World” title at the 2018 Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod. He now aims to inspire and share his love for music with people from all walks of life, especially the next generation, through his work as a music educator in local schools.
Beyond his work as a music educator and a collaborative pianist for VOS Men, VOS Children’s Choir and VOS Starlight Programmes, Zachary is an active member of the local music community. He currently serves as the Baritone Section Leader for VOS Men, a state choir under Voices of Singapore that advocates for male choral singing. In his church, he is also an active music ministry leader and a regular conductor, keyboardist and organist for his choir, The Heralds. In his free time, he enjoys craftwork, such as building nanoblocks and cross-stitching.
