Our Story - An Anthem of Inclusion for Persons With Disabilities
Music Video with SG Enable
Over 500 people came together to create Our Story, a heartfelt music video commissioned by SG Enable as a rallying call to build a more inclusive Singapore. Composed and written by Dr Darius Lim, Voices of Singapore’s Artistic Director, the song celebrates a decade of efforts by SG Enable and its partners to champion inclusion and empower persons with disabilities.
Our Story inspires all Singaporeans to imagine and work towards a future where inclusivity goes beyond today’s realities. The music video brings together diverse voices and showcases the collective commitment to fostering a more compassionate and united society.
As part of the 2023 National Day celebrations, the music video is dedicated to Former President Halimah Yacob in recognition of her unwavering contributions to building a more inclusive Singapore.
Mediacorp National Day Concert
In August 2023, Voices of Singapore performed Our Story at the Mediacorp National Day Concert, held at Gardens by the Bay. The VOS Children’s Choir and Starlight Voices, our inclusive choir for individuals with special needs, took the stage alongside Former President Halimah Yacob and Senior Parliamentary Secretary Eric Chua.
Ahead of the concert, Former President Halimah Yacob visited the Voices of Singapore Capitol Studios to attend a rehearsal of Our Story, showing her continued support and encouragement for efforts to build a more inclusive society.
