Singapore, February 27th, 2024 – Fresh from their Grand Prix win at a competition in Bratislava in December 2023, the Voices of Singapore Ladies Choir (VSL) proudly announces a milestone celebration as they mark a decade of music with a special anniversary concert, "VSL10: A Journey Beyond Music-making." This commemorative concert promises to take the audience on a heartfelt experience, exploring the depths of womanhood through the power of music.

VSL10 dives deep into the theme of womanhood, offering a heartfelt tribute to the diverse experiences of women navigating the ebbs and flows of life's journeys. The repertoire will feature moving performances by VSL, with special guest appearances by VSL alumni, senior women from the VOS Silver Voices, VOS Starlight Voices, and the VSL ladies' very own children.
Presenting a diverse repertoire that VSL has embraced over the past decade, this 10th-anniversary special captures the essence of growth, resilience, and the timeless strength of women as they navigate life's evolving tides and passages. The concert will feature works by local composers Dr. Darius Lim and Dick Lee, placing local folk tunes such as Dayung Sampan and Munaerru Vaalibaa alongside stirring choral classics such as Lux Aeterna by Eriks Esenvalds, as well as gripping gospel music such as Children Go Where I Send Thee arranged by Kevin Philip Johnson.

About VOS Ladies Choir (VSL):
Formally founded in 2014 as VOCO Singapore Ladies Choir by Artistic Director Darius Lim, the choir is the first independent all-female choral ensemble in Singapore. Consisting of semi-professional singers, musicians, educators and passionate amateurs, the choir joined VOS Choral Society at its inception in 2019 and was since renamed VOS Ladies Choir (VSL). Their primary goal is to empower women in Singapore, with a mission to present a diverse range of choral music to a worldwide audience.
In June 2016, the choir embarked on their inaugural international European tour, performing in Amsterdam, Krakow, London, Great Rissington, and Cardiff. During the tour, the choir was awarded the 2nd Prize in the Chamber Choir category of the 2016 Cracovia Cantans International Choir Competition in Krakow, Poland. In 2021, the choir received the Gold award at the 2021 World Choir Festival. More recently, VSL won the Grand Prix (overall best choir) at the 16th International Festival of Advent and Christmas Music in Bratislava, Slovakia. The choir competed in two categories, receiving Gold Bands for both, and was also the category winner for Female Adult Choirs.
