Darius Lim Becomes First Singaporean Composer to Release a Full Choral Album with Naxos Records, the World’s Largest Classical Label

A landmark moment for Singapore’s choral music, bringing local voices to a global audience. Recorded by the Voices of Singapore Choral Society.

Singapore, 28 November 2025 — Voices of Singapore (VOS) is proud to announce the worldwide release of Songs of Dreams, a new choral album by award-winning Singaporean composer-conductor Dr Darius Lim, now available under Naxos Records, the world’s largest classical music label.

This release marks a historic milestone for Singapore’s choral landscape: Dr Lim becomes the first Singaporean composer to publish a full choral album with Naxos, a testament to the growing international presence of Singaporean choral music.

Recorded in 2024 by the VOS Choral Society at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music Concert Hall, Songs of Dreams features 14 of Dr Lim’s most expressive and imaginative choral works — captured in rich, immersive Dolby Atmos audio, allowing the music to surround listeners in a lifelike three-dimensional soundscape. The album brings together music inspired by dreams, nature and the resilience of the human spirit, from ethereal soundscapes to dramatic choral lines. Performed by singers from the VOS State Choirs, the recording captures the ensemble’s diversity, colour and emotional depth.
